Body Friendly Golf Swing – Saguto Golf
Tom Saguto’s golf swing methodology is based around simplifying the golf swing, reducing the number of moving body parts. His mantra is “eliminating variables in your swing”
While his YouTube channel only occasionally addresses older golfers with limited range of motion, I consider his methods body-friendly and worthwhile to consider for any golfer with physical limitations.
Tom breaks down the golf swing to 3 main key elements: contact, power, and control.
The first element – get the lead arm straight . . . because it controls the contact point. You need this to have good impact. Note the left arm in the image.

Next. Don’t worry about weight shift during the swing. Shifting weight from one leg or another can lead to contact issues. In the Saguto Swing, the weight always stays forward from the beginning to the end of the swing. He replaces the conventional weight shift with rotating his shoulders.

The final element – Keep your set-up throughout the swing. Look for these elements in the Saguto Slow Motion Swing video below.

Many conventional golf coaches stress keeping the left arm straight and maintaining the V alignment of left and right arms. That shouldn’t feel unfamiliar to anyone trying Saguto’s golf swing.
What may initially feel awkward in trying the Saguto Golf Swing is having to keep your weight forward and moving the left (forward) shoulder down towards the ball all the way to the top of the backswing.

While I haven’t adopted Saguto’s swing elements across-the-board in my golfing, I have found it useful with my mid-irons and hybrid clubs.

Have you tried Saguto’s Swing System? What do you think of his ideas? Leave your comments below.
I prefer Savuto’s setup which gives you a straighter shot because with Veneto’s method you can only hit draws which makes dog legs to right and any trouble on left more difficult shots. On the positive side you do eliminated the right side of the course giving you a one way miss hence more consistency.
From Brian Sparks I like what he says about eliminating tension and tight muscles which I agree leads to bad things happening in the golf swing.
I’ve tried Saguto’s swing with my irons. The contact generally is good and the ball flies straight. But I seem to lose a little distance.
